This is a rookie mistake.  We just had the Crossroads Gun Show here in San Diego this past weekend.  I was there to purchase 5.56 ammos.....among others.  I first asked for .223 reloads.  Which I did purchase some.  Then I specifically asked for new 5.56.  I was shown boxes of Federals.  So I purchased a couple of boxes. Maybe I should have asked if there are other brands aside from Federals.   I did not really look close up to see and make sure they were 5.56.  However, when I got home and was putting them away later in the day, I did notice that they were .223 Federals.  I know I should have look at them up close when I purchased them.  But due to the rush of the lines and excitement....I guess I was not too observant to really look.  A rookie mistake and I know it is still my bad. Now I know.   I have 5.56 Federals on my stash.  And they do state 5.56.  Are the new .223s still any good as new 5.56?  I did email Miwall of the mistake asking for recommendations on what can be done.  I still have not received any response. Your advices would greatly be appreciated.  Thanks to all.

223 is gtg I like to shoot 556 better but that's because I stash only xm193 and xm855. Shoot what I stash. But I have Purchased plenty of 223 from the crossroad shows in the past. Just shoot it and buy more.

I wouldn't worry to much about it and just shoot it. You will likely not be able to tell the difference.

I think you are making an issue out of nothing. Just shoot it.
