Hey guys, So I have a bandoleer of 7.62 nato all on 5 round stripper clips with card board that I got somewhere at least 8 - 10 years ago, 50 rounds in all. I was checking it out tonight and it is mostly a mix of years, but 19 of the rounds stick to a magnet. now I know they made AP in this caliber but did they ever make a non AP round that sticks to a magnet? they are a mix of years and makes (WCC, LC, and TW). They are all nato cross stamped. And no I do not want to cut one open because I would not be able to replace it.

I do believe that some of the Mil. loadings were / are loaded with copper coated steel jacketed lead core bullets as well as copper jacketed lead core bullets..... I have seen both conventional jacketed and steel jacketed in modern XM80 and Winc. 7.62x51 also.

you can just sand the tip, and not destroy the bullet. If its gray then its steel

You can always get some pulled M2AP and load that in your 308 cases!

That's what I plan on doing once I get the funds. not only do I have to buy the dies, caliber conversion kit, primers, bullets, and powder, but I also have to replace my case tumbler that had the motor go out.
