I plan on using iron sites out to 100 yds. Also, using for HD. Is M193 good enough or should I move to MK262? Have you guys ever had a reliability problem chambering Lake City dinged up ammo for XM193? Thx.

| What are you shooting it out of? M193 was designed for M16s with 1 in 14 and later 1 in 12 rifling twist rates. Heavy open tip match ammo like Mk262 generally works best when fired from a barrel with a faster twist rate (1 in 7 to 1 in 9). I use M193 in my M16A1 clone and heavy OTM out of my other ARs, which have 1 in 7 barrels. |

m193 is also very good round for the price and you can practice with it more. M193 will fragment consistently from 0-100 yards, and I don't know much about mk262 I wouldn't say "consistently". That's one of the problems with it. Sometimes it doesn't. + 1. |

This is like posting that you have a truck, and want to know if you need 32" ATs or 44" boggers.
Terminal effects wise, the MK 262 will be far superior. However you'll need at least a 1-8 twist at least and preferably 1-7 to stabilize it. If you have that it'll also be FAR more accurate than M193. The only catch is cost, MK 262 is going to be about 4 times more expensive. My go to round for my MK12 is ASYM precision 75 gr, it's almost as accurate at MK 262, slightly better terminal effects and about 25% cheaper. |
