Does anyone have experience with this round? I am currently shopping for an AR and I am considering a Noveske Rogue Hunter in 300AAC.

1. How accurate is it?

2. Reliability?

3. Availability: Can I pick up this ammo at Wal-Mart and other similar stores?

I don't currently own an AR. I had a RRA that I shot once and left in the safe. I eventually sold it but now the bug is biting again. I started shooting with a group of guys who own various black rifles and that brought me to my senses.

The Rogue hunter is a great rifle and Noveske makes some of the most accurate 300BLK barrels around.

Accuracy: with supers on a Noveske is sub MOA. With subsonics it will be around MOA as they tend to do a little more vertical stringing due to the small variable velocities in subsonic ammo.

Reliability: The 300BLK is just as reliable as any standard AR and since you are looking at a Noveske you are looking at getting a notch above standard.

Availability: The .223/5.56 will always be more available than the 300BLK but after barely a year since the 300BLK was introduced you can find loaded ammo at brick and mortar stores like Academy, Bass Pro or Cabelas. I don't think I have heard of them popping up at wal-mart yet but give the 300BLK a little more time and you may. You can easily find them online from many retailers such as Midway USA, brownells, graffs and sons, etc.

Your post convinced me that Noveske was the way to go. I found a good deal on a 5.56 and placed the order. I should be able to post pics next week sometime.
