Is there anything special about LEO ammo like 60gr. Partition Winchester Ranger, or Federal Premium Tactical 62gr. Bonded SP & 55gr, Hi-Shok Tac ?
Found some empty boxes at the local range, something I couldn't find on the self. |

Probably just some LEO shooting on a private range, either just for fun, or with a friend/brother/kid that he couldn't take with him to his department range. |

I've bought quite a few boxes of the Federal XM556FBIT3 recently and the primers are sealed and there is a shitload of tar sealent at the case neck. There's so much tar that about 1/3 of the brass has tar spots or smears. Probably doesn't hurt anything but I wipe it off with alcohol patches prior to loading.
ETA: the headstamps are all 11. |

I was mainly talking about the actual projectiles. You'll see crimped and sealed primers, but I haven't seen case mouth sealant on any LE loads lately. .223 Federal Fusion 62gr actually has crimped primers. No sealant however. Then you need to check out Federals 5.56mm TTBC and winchesters 5.56mm bonded 64gr along with some of the Ranger bonded handgun loads ! You can go to win LE website a view the specs |

ETA: the headstamps are all 11. +1 someone needs to do more research I've shot a lot of the Win Ranger 9mm boned rounds (they are issued to us) and haven't seen any case mouth sealant, and there is none on Speer's 55gr Gold Dot 5.56mm. Out of the three loads that have case mouth sealant, posted here, there are a metric buttload that don't. It almost seems more common to see sealant on 5.56 loads as opposed to .223. So maybe you can do some research and make a chart of what does and what doesn't, because its super important and all. ;) |
