Shooting blanks out of my ar15 (20" and 16" ) is this a good idea or should i just not do it ?

I am sure I am going to need to use a muzzle device so the blank will cycle the action  Any advice will be helpful

1) You will need the BFA (blank firing adapter).

2) I will never , EVER!! fire blanks through one of my weapons ever again. 4 years of USMC solved that lil fun factor really quick. Unless you truly enjoy cleaning your firearm, go right ahead. Shooting 20blanks is like shooting 500rds of the crappiest ammo ever. It will dirty up your rifle fast.

There are two different BFA for the 20" and 16".

The aperture hole is a different size to compensate for barrel length.

RED= 20" and YELLOW=Carbine.

You can also get a BFA that slips in behind the flash hider for that "Hollywood" look.
These will have different aperture hole sizes to match the blank loads power.

Not all blank rounds are equal either.

M200's = crap
German DAG = Good
Swanson Motion Picture Blanks = Excellent (load is HOT for reliability)
