got a email from sportsmanguide for 8032 rounds of 223 silver bear for 132 dollars and almost came on myself....thinking it was a misprint wonder if i could hold them to it

Reminds me of a issue I had with sportsman's guide. They quoted me $2.22 for a 10 pack of 30 round surplus AK mags. It was supposed to be $22.20 per ten pack. I ordered 5 of them (didn't order more just in case they changed things on me). It was so back ordered that they held my order for almost a year. Every 60 days they would send me notices in WRITING confirming that my order for 5 AK packs for $2.22 each was still good. Then when they finally got the item in, they charged my card the full amount ($22.22 each) without telling me, and shipped the item.
I yelled bloody murder to my credit card company (discover) and faxed over to them all of their promised orders to me which I still had, and their emails. All confirming the 5 packs for $2.22. Discover sides with me, and kicked back the difference to Sportsman's guide. Sportsman's guide was pissed and sent collector after collector after me demanding I pay them the rest. I just keep sending each collector what I sent to discover card. They also put a collection on my credit report for the difference I supposedly owed. They also said I can never do business with them again. All of this over a $100 that was THEIR mistake. I never gave them a dime of the demanded money to this day. F Sportsman's guide!!!! |

They do weasel out of some deals, cancel huge orders claiming you might be a dealer, sell stuff on backorder for months, etc. But I still like them FWIW |

I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV (so this isn't official legal advice). If you have the LEAST bit of trouble with this now on your credit report, I would send them a registered letter (with the supporting facts) informing them if they continue this action and do not remove it from your credit report, you will be filing suit for defamation of character. Then, follow up on the threat. |

I have a great story for Sportsman's guide. Two years ago if you did a search for .223 ammo on their website vs. clicking the links on the website you could find a 1000 round case of ultramax for $150. I promptly order 4 cases. I recieved an email confirmation with the quantity of 4 cases and a price of $600. I recieved the shipment with all four cases and the packing slip had the quantity at 4 cases and price at $600. I check my credit card and the bastards charged me $1744 (4 cases @ $435 a case).
I call up sportsmans guide and tell them they charged me the wrong amount. They tell me it was a misprint in their catalog and I am responsible for the "right" price. To which I reply I orderd it off their website, the rep then puts me on hold and the rude rep on the other end accused me of somehow hacking their site to get the price. I called BS and told her the price is still up on their website and if they don't reverse the charge I would have my CC company reverse the charges....I get put on hold again and a manager comes back on and says if I show them where the price is they would credit back the right amount. I told them how to find it and the credited me back the right amount. It still took them a week to disable the price. Sportsman's guide are dick's............. |

I ordered one of their ammo deals a few years back. In stock on the website, then all of a sudden it's backordered.
Kept getting emails about the backorder, and then all of a sudden 6 months later they canceled the order. I've never done a business with them since. |
