Its 62gr Hornady TAP FPD with the red plastic tip my question is what is the red tip for and how does it work?

| Though its not listed on the recommended defense ammo would this round be sufficient for personal defense? Ive had these for a while until a few months ago i bought some 69gr blackhills Sierra matchking HP I keep my primary mag loaded with these but how would the Tap rounds stack up for defense? |

The TAP loads with the VMAX bullet tend to underpenetrate. I wouldn't recommend using them or stocking up on them as defensive ammo. |
