Especially when you read the FAQs first.

The FAQ is great and all but the ammo that we mostly shoot and store has one small paragraph.

M855 and M183.

Who is gonna stock up on exotic 60/70 grain plus ammo?

The Review and Reference thread has info on dozens of types of ammo.

There's a reason that M193 and M855 are not first choice when it comes to self-defense which is explained in the FAQ.

Furthermore, there is an "Ammunition Review and Reference" thread which lists ammo in descending order of reliability.

M193 is not exactly ideal, but for 30 cents a round, plus the fact that it is available everywhere, it suits my purposes. 75 grain 5.56 is very costly and somewhat hard to find.

That is why I was looking at M193 in the first place.  You can get a low more for your money than any of the other rounds listed in the FAQ link
