What are you trying to show, or what question are you trying to answer? I have some statistics training so perhaps I could provide advice as to what sort of data you will need. With the right type of data I could do an analysis as well.
Shoot me a PM if you're interested. |

Im trying to reload my own, and everyone tells you to load to the max length, and I'm not getting that great of results. I read a thread where someone was having issues like I am, and loaded some to 2.235" and that improved the accuracy ten fold. I wanted to see what factory loaded match ammo was loaded to to get an idea of where to start since they have much more resources to test then I do. |
| While using factory ammo as a reference might make a good starting point, your going to need to figure out what your gun likes. If max length doesn't give good results load up a batch of shells consisting of 5 or 10 round groups at varying seating depths. Start at the longest length and work back in .010 or .020 increments. When you find a batch that performs well, load a few batches of 5 or 10 rounds at various seating depths around there. You have to dial into the spot your gun likes. There are a lot of variable at play, not the least of which in this case is the freebore in your barrel. Keep in mind Seating depth can effect pressure, sometimes dramatically at the extreme ends of the seating depth range. |

Also don't forget that they probably use different powders and primers at the factory to. What you need is the Hornady OAL Gage. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=570611 |
