| Is it possible to get 1k rounds for close to 200 bucks that isnt in steel cases? I reload and I would like to get some brass I have alot of wolf but ammo prices were so high for the thousand I decided to wait. I checked the ammo thread thats tacked and the best up there is 289 I think. do you know of any other deals or will prices drop and I should wait. I only want 1k more and I think I will have enough. |

You do know that the Black Box Wolf comes with Boxer priming, right? And that you can reload those cases with no real problems, right? Just askin'... lol, are you trying to get him to reload steel cases? Remember... just because you can, doesn't mean you should. As for the $200/k target... unless they are reloads... let me know if you find something in that range!

Doesn't mean you shouldn't either. It works great, and one very well regarded member here (SBR7_11) does so regularly. A lot of guys do so for "good loads" that they'll shoot at places where gathering their brass is difficult.

Well, I could see using steel as a disposable reloading tool, but not a regular multiple use one. You're changing the rules in the middle of the game. ;) Everything has it place and some things have a few places. Just keep in mind the hands you are putting the tools in. |

FYI, check the forums...
Once fired .223 brass is extremely common and CHEAP. I just bought a lot of 1,000pcs of sorted Federal brass from a member on the forum for $55 shipped...this was guaranteed once fired and already tumbled. Very good stuff from what I've seen so far. 1,000 hornady 55gr FMJs with cannelure will run you ~$80 if you use your googlefu. 4lbs of powder another $75-85. A brick of small rifle primers, $36-40 depending on your local availability. That'll get you 1,000rnds of good shooting, consistent ammunition for under that $289 ammo...it'll just take you some serious time to get there. The payoff will be good, consistent ammo that is tuned to your gun...vs. cheap bulk stuff! |

Or you could just buy factory ammo and save your self the time.
1000 rnd HORNADY Training ammo $269.95 |
