First off, "THANK YOU" to the person that bought me the Team Membership. That was unexpected and very generous of you. You have inspired me to do more testing and share it here in the future.

Excellent work. 
One thing seems to be clear, and that is that the Match Kings perform excellent in almost every loading from every manufacture. Even the Fiocchi loading, which is significantly less expensive than Federal GM (which, BTW, I wish you would have tested.) I'll have to try the 69gr. Fiocchi MKs.

Thanks for posting. A lot of effort went into that project & to post as well.
I happened to be at my range earlier this week to test fire my latest build (16" M4 Carbine - my build). The average of 3 separate 5-shot groups (measured outside, edge-to-edge) results were: Ultramax 55 grain FMJ = .9" Wolf Poly 55 grain FMJ = 1.2" I shot the Wolf last....two of the groups were less than .5" high....the ES was determined by the horizontal spread. I'm guessing that the "shooter" was not as good as the ammo. My buddy at work "razzed" my poor marksmanship, but realized I used the military sliding buttstock (poor repeatability for cheekweld), didn't have a good bag setup, nor am I a bench-type shootin' guy. I'd rather shoot off-hand - more fun. Oh, I used an inexpensive 6-18X scope. Regards, Hotgun |

Haven't been to the outdoor range in weeks to continue my own field testing, so I am living vicariously through your reports, ha! Keep them coming. I tried another 25 or so types you did not and i am kicking myself for cleaning out my filing cabinet about a year or so. I had organized all my targets from all my test shooting sessions and figuring that i hammered out what i'd be shooting, so i tossed them out. Had a lot of 7.62 also. Thanks for posting, i built a new AR Recently and so far, it doesn't like what the other does. Your post will be agood reference! |
