I have searched and have not found the information I seek.
Silver State Armory has a 63gr round claimed to be good for barrier and glass penetration. Has anyone used/ reviewed/ tested this round? Thanks. |
| i have about 180 rounds of these, but have yet to test them as it is friggin cold in ohio at the moment. i could never find any info on them either and im not positive if they are even bonded or not. i looked on sierras website but last i checked they didnt even have information on a 63 grain soft point bullet. either way, the brass is real nice and it is loaded to 5.56 specs if the box isnt lying. my big motivation in picking them up was i got them for 15 bucks a box. |

I'd be careful about that. The 63gr Sierra bullet is listed as a "Varminter", which may not make it ideal for barrier penetration no matter what SSA claims. Personally, I'd like to see some test results before relying on it for such a particular purpose. Thanks for the info |

Sierras for deer culling/coyote/varmint work and I can say that in my experience they expanded quicker and didn't hold together nearly as well as the 64 gr. Winchester Powerpoints. Whether or not the the Sierras are manufactured to the same spec's as they were in past I don't know. |
