Walmart federal bulk problem.... > Ammunition

Anyone have broken case issues with Federal Bulk .223 from walmart?

Happened in a STG 556 with about 150-175 rounds through. Tight chamber maybe? Ran fine with Federal XM193.

Shot it, next round went half way in, pulled mag, checked for FTE, put mag back in, round went half way in. Got home and ran a chamber brush through and pulled case out.

So the case broke in half basically?

Sounds like a bad batch of brass. Contact Federal.

I assume you had no other problems with this rifle prior? How do the primers from fired cartridges look like? Normal or signs of overpressure?

In my opinion this ammo is JUNK! I tryed some about a year ago and had problems with bullet setbacks. I still have most of the value pack left. I see that it still the same.

I use it all the time. Went through 200 rounds of ti on Sunday without any problem.
The guy next to me went through a whole box and I didn't see any problems.
I probably went through 500 rounds of it last month, not one problem.

That doesn't mean that it can't happen but I like the ammo.

I've shot about 800 rounds of this ammo with absolutely no problems. Probably just "1 in a million" bad luck in my opinion.

It's not my favorite ammo but it was available last year when times were tough so I used it and never had an issue.

I was just curious if this was common with Federal bulk. This was my 1st time using this brand. I'm more pissed because it put my new rifle out of commission early in a shoot @ a friends private range 150 miles from home. And yes. out of 4 people nobody thought to bring a cleaning kit or broken shell extractor. I did bring a one piece cleaning rod but no attatchments.

I have been through about 500 rounds of this with no failures thus far. I looked into this ammo on here before I purchased it and the general consensus was that it was fine ammo. Just adding my experience.

I like the stuff not as hot as xm-193 but has gone bang for me every time also it is consistent and accurate

I have also had good luck with this AMMO also. I have also reloaded this brass with no issues yet.

Wow. Can't say that I've ever had that problem, and I've shot 3-4k worth of it threw a couple of different rifles. No STG's though.

Is this the 50 gr. hp in the 200 bulk or the 55 gr fmj in the 100 round bulk??

I've shot 1800rd so far no FTF or FTE. I'm GTG so far. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've shot the 55 GRAIN FMJ.

I've had two FTEs with this ammo out of the same 100 rnd box. Possible it is the rifle, but it fires flawlessly with any other brand, so I don't know.

It isn't really a bargain anyways, so I'm going to just use other stuff from now on.
