| Has the price of ammo been going down at the gun shows to where it is as affordable as buying online? I don't go to them often and last one I did almost a year ago was a waste of my time looking for any deals, everything was much more than what could be found online, even with shipping. A show is coming to town next month and I may go. Thanks. |

The last few gunshows I went to in the Northern Virginia area have tended to be $50-$60/K over online prices for most .223/5.56 and 5.45. I tend to go for the entertainment value of the crowd, busyfingering stuff I see online, and buying ammo cans. Once in a while I'll buy something if it's the same price without shipping or if I want it right now. |

yeah...on-line (even with shipping), I have found is cheaper for me. No sweat, no strain. Call, give them your CC and Big Brown rolls up with a nice crate. easy and saves time.
BUT actually seeing what goes on at the Funshows is great entertainment! Ex: "...this is RARE, ONE-OF-A-KIND M193...it's only $$$$ per round...it's armor-piercing, incendiary, explosive, tracer, radioactive, blah-blah, you name it...I just stand there and nod my head....can't argue with some of these Funshow whack-jobs....you do little good to best a fool! |
| From what I can see the deals at gunshows are few and far between whether it be ammo, guns, magazines whatever, if I go to one a year anymore thats saying something, it has to be really close to me and I am really bored in order to go, other than that its a waste of money. |

I just got back from a show in Louisville. Fairly dissappointing, seems like they are always a good place to find a few odds-nends but not a place to make many "big ticket" purchases (ie. bulk lots of ammo or firearms) although I did see some firearms prices that I considered "on par" 10/22 for $229 which is cheaper than walmart, dont know what they are in local gunshops. Ammo for typical calibers over priced. .380 was highway robbery, $30 a box only seen it at one table. 9mm $26 for a 100rd winchester value pack, everywhere else was 15-20 for 50rds. 7.62x39 5.50-7.50/20. They had romanian 8mm in cans but I didnt pay attention to the price.
Idiots.... lots of them! They announced over the loudspeaker that someone stole a .22 rifle off a table. I believe they said PSP or maybe it was GSG, hard to tell with the suthern draaaaw. I seen many a azzbag I would figure would steal something like a gsg thinking they got an MP5 or "dat gun fro da vidyo game dawg". Someguy walking around with a 1911.. no ziptie or chamber flag finger fuggin it as he walked around with it pointed at whoever he walks by. Seen so many fingers on triggers! I saw one azzhat weaving down a crowded isle, look over spot a pistol gripped 12ga, reaches over in front of me, puts his hand on the grip pulls the trigger then continues on walking wow he got to touch it!

Personally I think we are in a low point with prices, and they will go back up.... ammo, firearms, etc. +1 on this Yep, by July-September we may be talking about the good ol' days where 1200 rounds of M855 IMI were only $435. Legislation against guns/ammo by the Socialist Communist Marxist Politician crowd is more than a possibility, and something they have been planning on for quite a while. And don't tell me that they won't consider this because of it hurting their re-election prospects. Look at health care, cap 'n trade, and the rest of the "destroy America now legislation" they are intent on pushing through yesterday. As far as their re-election chances, with the hundreds of billions of tax payer money they have stolen, they will buy their way in again. Not with foreign money like last time (435 million proved from overseas for Obama), this time with working America's money. Just look at the 4 trillion (that's a T) guaranteed in bailouts for the next stock market crash, virtually, absolutely, assuring us it will crash. Get your money out now, if you haven't already! And buy ammo, buy ammo, buy ammo. |

I just got back from a show in Louisville. Fairly dissappointing, Looks like chances of me going to the Lexington show next month just went out the window as I am sure they will just about be all the same booths. Guess I will continue to do my shopping online. |

I remember early to mid 2009 people were saying they wouldn't go after the guns because they wouldn't get re-elected, but I was just having the same thoughts yesterday, they either feel like they are already on the way out and don't care, or they think they are superdic*s who can push anything through and no consequences. |

This is probably more of a GD topic but I'll weigh in: Harry Reid does not want anti-gun legislation coming through the Senate. He said so when it was being talked about last spring. For some reason he seems to be somewhat pro-gun.. BHO has said things indicating no interest in gun legislation, but has previously stated he wants a 500% increase in gun & ammo excise tax. It is currently 11% so that would become 55%, that would make your $425 ammo become $587 overnight. I have no inside info, this is just based on what the two men have previously said. |

The 2 past gun shows I went to had that 200rd m855 white box "battle pack" for $74...Your prices seem high |
