What would you guys recommend to stock up on in surplus ammo like M855, M193 for a SHTF situation.  The defensive ammo sticky leaves these out.

I have some Radway Green M855 that shoots real well for me. I do not normally keep or prefer surplus ammo. You never how it was handled after the release. I do keep Privi M193 (new) behind my Black Hills. WJ

See the link above for ammo info.  See the parts about what is SHTF ammo under Selection of .223 and 5.56mm ammo.

I've got SA M193, in water/weather proof battle packs. Easy to grab and go, still factory fresh. I've shot enough of it over the years that I know it'll still go bang when I need it. I've also got a good pile of other types, but with LC dropping off, I'm not a huge fan of the rejects/2nds that are out there. Prvi works well, but even some people have been having issues with that. Who knows.

... and there's a reason it does.

Otherwise, the Ammo Oracle discusses the difference and someone already provided the link.
