| Have any of you guys ever had problems with loose primers in Winchester Q3131? I bought 3 boxes from a guy because they were really cheap, lot # HH91, the first box was fine but I shot the second box and had two primers fall out. I didn't know the first one fell out till I picked up the brass, but the second one jammed the gun. Did I get a bad box or is this a common thing? Some of the casings were starting to get a little corroded, so maybe that had something to do with it. |

In the late 90s there were a lot of complaints about a few lots of 3131 that had problems. Is there a date on this stuff? It's ok for plinking ammo but I wouldn't save it for SHTF situations if it 90s production stuff. Edited to add, I just reread your thread and saw the 91 in the lot number which is probably the year of production. So yeah, blast with it but don' rely on it for self defense.

I have had problems lately with Q3131 lots CD01 and BL13. Had popped primers in two different guns, one with a LaRue barrel and bolt and the other a Noveske Recon with a BCM BCG. I was averaging one popped primer per box. Fired brass did not show any other signs of over pressure like bulged cases or flattened primers. Both guns also had fine bits of brass plug the ejector. I don't think I'd buy Q3131 right now. ETA: The Q3131 came from my department's range so the lots should be recent manufacture (we go through a lot and have a steady turn over in ammo). |

No problems with WCC 91, lot EH50. I bought it new, and still have some.
Don't have any problems w/ WCC 07 NATO either. Both out of Colts. However, my 6920 ejector shreds the crap out of the heads of all brass, leaving cuttings in the chamber, extractor, everywhere. I would buy more.... |
