I see Natchez has Remington, .223 55gr FMJ in the green & white box OnSale for $11.99 per box of 20 rounds and aluminum cased 9mm for $13.99! Say it ain't so~
It's been a while since I've bought factory ammo but is that how much it costs? I don't know for sure but a friend who is from Poland says that in Poland (and probably most of Europe) only the very rich have firearms and only the very rich and well connected are allowed to hunt game. How many of us drive new or very old Corvettes or Vipers? Thats how many of us will be owning firearms and shooting in years to come. If they can't legislate us out then they'll price us out. What do you guys think? $14 for abox of scrap ammo? VonB |

1) Natchez has moved in the direction of 'cheaper than dirt' with their pricing - which is a non-issue for me; as a TN resident I can't buy from them anyway. 2) Rem-UMC ammo is my last choice for brass-cased ammo anyway. It just doesn't impress me. ![]() I agree. Natchez used to have the best prices. Over the last ten+ years I have ordered a ton of handgun ammo from them. They're not the cheapest anymore. I never understood that "no sales to TN residents" thing. What is that about? |

"I never understood that "no sales to TN residents" thing. What is that about?" Based in Chattanooga, TN, Natchez does not sell to individuals in TN, GA, or AL. They say that they do not want to compete directly with the local retail market.
U1121 Which makes NO SENSE in a state as long as TN....from where I live, I can be in MO,KY,AR,MS,AL,GA, ILL, and maybe a few other states faster than I can get to Chattanooga......and oddly enough, to get to Chattanooga from my house, I normally go through MS, AL and GA..... By selling to me, they would not be competing with the local retail market....since the local retail market gets -0- of my business anyway. |

My Wal-mart sells the .223 Remington 20ct for $8.97 a Box and 9mm blazer brass 50ct for $8.96 a box and has both in stock. Where is this Wal-mart at? Walmart outside Dallas, Federal 100rd value pack $39.95. IF you find it on the shelf before someone else buys it. |

Speaking from a little experience with a company that does a lot of E-commerce, I imagine it could be a tax issue..... It's possible that they don't want to sell to TN residents because they don't have to factor sales tax into their order process. Calculating sales tax based on county or other municipality tax rates can be a little complicated when trying to automate online orders processing. It's not crazy difficult, but it's just another step and it can present legal issues if you do it incorrectly. |
