I have Win Ranger M855's (1720 rounds) many loaded in 30 round PMAGs and about 720 rounds of Hornady TAP 75 in PMAGs. I've got 12 Glock 33 round 9mm mags ready to go with FHP's for several Glocks, as well as dozens of 9mm mags (a Beta 100) for the RRA SBR and my Uzi (FA).
Two Beta 100's of 60 grain TAP and 1 90 rd snail mag with the same. We have a total of two SMG's, 4 SBR's and 4 Carbines. Add to that two 32 rd sticks for the G21 in .45 suppressed along with an HK USP Tactical w/can. I've got about 50 empty metal (most SS) mags and cases of ammo. Then a good collection of .308 TAP, Federal, Rem all 168 for my POF P-308. Then there's the shotguns....slugs, sabots, and buck...we got it all |

I've got a can of IMI M855, but most of my ammo is 55 gr FMJ, just good old M193.
I used my last South African Battle Pack a short while back. When I reload I use: LC and Winchester cases. I've also used Remington cases. Federal cases are fine the first time around but a little too soft for reloading. Sierra 55 gr FMJ boattails. I like AA2230, but have also used H335, BL-C(2), WCC844, WCC846, and Winchester 748. I've used CCI and Winchester primers. The last few thousand rounds I've loaded were Winchester. I load with a Dillon 550b. I trust my reloads. I'm saving the can of IMI (That ISRAELI MILITARY INDUSTRIES, fyi) in case we are overrun with Middle Eastern Terrorists. Just seems fitting to shoot ammo that was loaded in the Holy Land, where the workers have walked over the same dirt Jesus Himself may have walked 2000 years ago. I've been trying to get a Priest to bless it for me. Can't hurt. I don't know any Rabbi's or I'd get one to do the same. |

Please don't link to the mirror site - it's not kept up-to-date, and the Ammo Oracle is hosted on Arfcom now: http://ammo.ar15.com OP: Please read the post "Best choices for self defense ammo" tacked at the top of the page. |
| one thing I really don't get that is said in the AMMO ORACLE and is on many peoples minds is having a total !@#$ ton of ammo and weapons. People in the ORACLe said they stockpiled thousands of rounds for SHTF ammo. IMO if the SHTF, I don't want to be carrying 400 lbs of ammo in my pack along with 8 guns! the way I see it is you can only use what you can carry. In most SHTF situations I sure expect that I will be out of my house for a while and depending on the situation maybe forever. I only loaded 9, 30 round mags of 5.56 and have 1000 rounds in my pack for my AR. Thats more than 30 pounds of ammo right there. I see no need for thousands of rounds stockpiled except if you want to give the enemy something to fight YOU with. Thats just my opinion. This isn't meant to offend anyone. |

A SHTF stash is not just for having to run like a mofo with what you can carry. We are in SHTF right now regarding ammo availability and it won't get better any time soon. It all depends on what your threshold of SHTF is. |

I have a bunch of it. If I don't need it myself, I can always give some to friends or trade it for other stuff I need. And I can shoot it for fun if there is no SHTF situation. Come real SHTF, ammo will be worth as many 16-year-old virgins in trade as you care to ask for. |
| My shtf ammo is doubletap .40 s&w 180gn hollow points, 50ct. 100 rds of M193 5.56 mil surplus.. about 600 rds of wolf military classic .223, and 500 rds of speer 155gn ,40 s&w.. plus 25 rds of lawman 10-pellet 12ga 00buck. I'm ready for long range and short range zombies. |

shtf ...
2 weapons i care about ... zombie attack - about 1k of M193, 2k of Wolf 5.56 and 200rds of M855 for those "protected armor" monsters. end of the world due to weather/geologic related disaster - add 1500 rds of 7.62x39 for those "long winter/mud" AK situations - with a quart of used motor oil to keep it running. if you entered my house (assuming you got that far) .40 S&W and 9mm +p Ranger and Hydroshok ... enough to get my 1st 2 options reloaded - assuming i actually shoot up the 40 mags or so without a reload 1st. but ia really need a few "deer" cartridges ... maybe 69g Sierra - i guess i need to start reloading. |

I bought about 3k rounds of MK 262 during an AR-15.com group buy about 4? years ago. I think it was $18 per 50 box plus a small shipping fee. Cabelas had some up until last Spring, but in small quantities... AC Edit: HSM (Hunting Shack Ammuntion) ammo is the 5.56-17T which is a 75 grain load 5.56mm load |

I will feed mine with Prvi 75-gr OTMs in half of my carry mags and good ol' XM193 in the other half. My Mossy 500A is also coming along with a belt of 100-rds of 12-gauge buck & slugs. What good is a no maintainance Yugo AK if you can't hit anything with it? The sights on that little piggy really suck bro! |

The sights on that little piggy really suck bro! got a couple of krebs peep sights. makes a world of difference. 100yds, 10 shots, krebs peep sight, m67 ammo (the best ak round). elbows on a table, no rest. no bullshit. ![]() close up work around buildings or structures, cars, etc. 7.62x39 will penetrate objects way better than any .223/5.56 round. the yugo m67 round also has improved wounding characteristics over other fmj ak rounds. anything under say 150yds i'd rather have an ak47. |
