I have come across a brand of loaded ammo I've previously never seen.  It's labeled PMC, in a camo box.  Brass cases, boxer primed, labeled M193, "meets military specifications".

The weird part....no country of manufacture is given, the importer is PMC (Pan Metal Corporation), not Precision-Made Cartridges.  The label is 5.56 55gr M193, red sealed primers, no visible neck sealant, cannelured bulllet, headstamp PMC 223 Rem

Every "M193" I've encountered other than surplus, XM, or Q, isn't, so I'm suspicious.  It "feels" about right, but I don't have a chrono.  Groups about .6 at 50m (I was testing mags, not me).

Anyone heard of it?  Know anything about it?  It's cheaper than I can find any brass cased ammo online, so I'm doubtful it's up to m193 spec, but would be a good source of brass.

Just older PMC.  I don't think they've done the camo boxes in a long time.  Any they are now doing more to "hide" their Korean origin than they used to.

I used to buy that in the late 80's early 90's.
It came in ammo cans ~480 rounds I think.  I may still have one of the cans.
PMC is the same PMC, I think they changed the definition of the acronym.
It was Pan Metal Corp - Korean I think?  I bought it at the same time Norinco was available.
Not sure how old the ammo you have is.  It used to be good shooting stuff.
It may be cheap because it is old.  Buy it.

Thanks guys.  I would never have thought it was the same PMC.

Reading the review thread, it looks like it actually IS a 556 193 load they stopped bringing in.  at 6.99 a box i may have to take it all.

I bought a ton of that "back in the day". GREAT ammo! I still have 3 crates of the 223 in my Ammo Fort (the brown, 20rnd military style boxes were crated in a pretty nifty looking pine crate).

IIRC, "Poonsan Metalic Corporation" was the name they went by back then......

I'd still buy all I could find today.......if I could find it!
