Anybody know the approx. weight for a 500 or 1000 round case of 5.56 ?

Going by foggy alcohol corrupted memory from looking at a shipper probably four years ago-
I'd estimate 31 pounds per 1000 rds.

I just got an e-mail from Palmetto this afternoon. 1K rounds of 5.56 shipped is 27 lbs.

I have 3 bags of 1000 from Top Brass and each bag of just brass is 13 pounds 3.2 oz
