Any thoughts on using 20 year old ammo that has been stored in a cool dry place?
Looking at some  Q3131 dated 1989.
Let me know your thoughts.

No problems. I'd shoot with confidence under those conditions. I ran across some LC ball from the early 80's I'd forgotten about and it shot just fine. If stored with a little care, ammo doesnt really go bad.

I have some Lake City from the 70's that shoots fine. I would have no problem with your q3131.

Yep, I still have close to 3k of LC 72' on stripper clips that my FIL gave me awhile back. Was around 6500 rds total. It's been some of the best I've used so it gets saved for special range trips.

That Q3131 ammo should be fine. Just load it up, point it in the right direction and let 'er rip.

I have some German 8 mm AP from ww2 ,and belive it or not it still groups a 3.5 inches out of a K98 with open sights at 100 yards . I boughi the ammo 500 rounds at a gun show in 1976 for $50.00. I shoot about 20 rounds a year and have not seen any loss of accuracy so far .

I've got some ancient (64-65 years old) 762x54R that still lights off each and every time, so as long as the ammo looks to be in decent shape, odds are it will be just fine.

I shot some Q3131 I had dated 1993 a few months ago. It shot just like the new 08 Q3131 I have.

People are still shooting 1930's Turk out of their Mausers.

Wouldn't even think about not using it.

The question might be the quality of storage in the intervening decades. Usually appearance is somewhat of an indication of storage. Somewhat. I've shot .30/40 Krag surplus from the early 1900s with no issue. WHY I was dumb enough to shoot that up is beyond me, but don't go there. I've also seen Pakistani surplus from the 80s (?) that looked horrible and apparently shot correspondingly. The variable there is Pakistani quality control, which is a contradiction in terms.
