| What weight vmax would be the best to go with for hunting deer? 1:9 twist barrel. I had read somewhere that 75 grain wasn't very stable? |

USE a HP or HP-BT. The Federal V-shock 55gr HPBT is great for deer! I don`t know why in the world anyone would want to shoot a deer with a soft point when you can shoot one with a Hollow point or even better a Hollow Point Boat Tail. I have killed a ton of deer with 5.56mm (223) and HP or HPBT is the way to go.
Hope this helps. |

1:9 should shoot a 55gr bullet well.
As far as what to look for, the nosler partition is known to be a good performer on deer sized game. Here it is in 60gr, which should come out of that R15 pretty nicely. http://www.natchezss.com/Ammo.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=FAP223Q&prodTitle=223%20REM%2060GR%20NOSLER%20PARTITION Here's the 55gr Hollow point boat tail that was recommended: http://www.natchezss.com/Ammo.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=FAP223E&prodTitle=223%20REM%20HPBT%2055GR Good luck, and learn to do a little research on your own. |
