I have a BM M4A3, it has about 1000 rounds through it maybe less and I allways keep it clean and lubed. It will cycle brass ammo with out issue but the wolf is so under powered that it very rarely kicks the bolt back all the way so I can only load one round at a time or it will jam the next round, other than the occasional FTE thats the only problem I have with it. Could it be that the recoil spring need to be broken it more, is there a way to lessen the tension on the spring to allow the bolt to kick back easier ? I have a couple hundred rounds of this stuff and I'd like to be able to shoot it.

In my experience I've had nothing but problems with wolf ammo in my AR's.  My Colt will only fire about 10 rounds of the junk before it gum's up and wont extract, maybe 20 rounds.

I don't want to dump in your thread, but why do people insist on using that crap?

The problem isn't your gun, it's the ammo...

The only thing you could do at this point is hand cycle it, or use it in your bolt action...

Is scrubbing the chamber with a USGI chamber brush part of your cleaning routine?

I have a BM M4A3 and have fired a couple thousand rounds of Wolf and never had a problem. Possibly the gun?

There are many issues which could be causing short stroking. Head over to the Troubleshooting forum and read the FAQs to see what some common solutions are.

I have the exact same problem with Wolf in my Bushmaster. Initially I chalked it up to cleaning it with WD 40 and leaving a film of it in the chamber. Over the last ten or so trips to the range shooting nothing but brass flawlessly and cleaning with Pro Shot copper solvent IV and Break Free CLP with a final swab of the chamber with Gun Scrubber I decided to try Wolf again today. Same thing. At this point I don't believe the problem is anything but under powered ammo.

I've read, understand and agree with this information:
http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=268

The people who post that Wolf is garbage NEVER back up this opinion with concrete, irrefutable evidence, only that their weapons won't cycle it. The people who post that Wolf cycles without incident is concrete, irrefutable evidence enough that Wolf is acceptable ammo. Also, Wolf is on a list of ammo that Bushmaster deems reliable. I'm considering gently honing the chamber to make sure beyond all doubt that it's as clean as it should be. In any case even if I decide to never use it again I will do whatever to make it cycle through my AR.

Wolf MC shoots great in my chrome lined barrel.  It wont shoot more than 40 rounds in both of my buddies non-chrome lined.  I just wonder if it has anything to do with reamer marks, or looser tolerances due to over-reaming and chroming

Never had a problem with Wolf in any of my ARs or my AR180B or Sig 556.

I have just the opposite problem.  Mine loves Wolf but short stroked/FTE's XM193.

My BM chrome lined ate Wolf without a hiccup from day one. However, my BM DCM XR hates any steel cased stuff. I've chalked it up to a tighter chamber, since it will start to FTE after about 5-6 rds.

I have a BM that  runs great on all Wolf, I have a precision AR, DPMS upper and Dalphon lower that chokes on all Wolf except for the 75gr. Also in this rifle the 75gr ammo shoots to POI for the 75gr and 68gr Black Hills ammo that I hunt with, so, bonus for me.

Neither of my ARs that get fed Wolf have had an issue. My DPMS has only run Wolf and has about 250 rds with no failures. My colt has atleast 1k Wolf with no issues other then operator error, one feed issue when I dropped the bolt on a mag that wasn't seated.

You may be getting bolt bounce with the M193.

No problems with Wolf here. It's my brand of choice.

No real problems with wolf my way.  It's great plinking ammo.  Relatively accurate for my 25-50 meter shooting.  Occasionally has a primer thats not seated correctly....but 99% of the time goes boom for me.  Plus it's cheap

Wolf is all I shoot with my AR and it works flawlessly. Even the stuff with bits of surface rust on them.  whatever, I just keep on shooting with no problems.

But if your AR only likes gourmet stuff, then that's what you have to feed it.

I have had FTE's with Wolf MC on 3 different rifles, a DPMS, a SW M&P15, and a RRA.

Every time I manage to get the casing out of the chamber, the casings are chipped where the extractors attempted to pull them out of the chambers.  The casings are weak and they chip off as the weapon cycles.

I'm currently trying to use up all my Wolf MC and will never buy it again for my AR.

Its great for my AK tho

I don't know how many AR's I have been through but have yet to have one choke due to Wolf Ammo...

But I hope you guys stop buying it!

Well, you guys have settled it decisively once and for all.

I have a BM 20" (chrome barrel) and I'm planning on going to a shoot where I'll have to leave the brass (er, steel) where it falls. No way I'm leaving the good stuff behind.

I'm going to drop some cash on AIM and be sure to get to the range before the shoot and test it.

If my rifle chokes on it I'll trade the rest to the roving gangs if The UH-bamanation runs Western Civilization into the crapper.

This will be my first Wolf. If my rifle pukes it up, at least I can join in the rants from now on.
