I've checked the Ammo Oracle and elsewhere on this site but I can't find the info I need: Going through my ammo stash I've run across a few hundred loose rounds in an ammo can. Most of it has "TZZ" on the headstamp with various years, mostly early nineties. There are other numbers, like '1" at the nine o'clock and "4" at the three o'clock. I'm no AR15 expert, but I do recall reading here that most ammo bought "loose" is usually range pickups or seconds. I also know how much ammo is at the moment, so I'd hate to dispose of these rounds if they are safe. I have tried to do a little research on TZZ ammo, like if there are any bad lots or experiences, but all I could find out is that TZZ is Israeli Military Industries (IMI) ammo. SO... I humbly ask the ARF gurus if anyone has had any kabooms or major problems with this ammo. It's only a few hundred rounds, but heck, that is a day at the range! Thanks |

IMI is some of the best ammo made. I would shoot it without hesitaton as long as your AR is chambered for 5.56. I can't recall the year, but I believe there might have been some "issues" with one lot, I don't think it was a kaboom problem..primers perhaps? I'm sure someone on here will know. I've got 800rds of 62 grain stashed for shtf as well as 3 cases of Win Q3131"A".....made by IMI. |
