Bear with me here cuz I am picking up my FIRST AR tomorrow. I have heard that the rate of twist can affect the accuracy as it related to bullet weight. If my gun has a 1 in 9 rate  (out of a 16" barrel) of twist can anyone reccomend a weight of bullet I might start with to see which the gun likes best.

I have a friend tell me that with a 1 in 9 I should stick to bullet weight of 62 GR or less. Is there any truth to this or was he just wanting to outshoot me when we go to the range on Sunday?

Thanks for all your help in advance.
