Where are they, seems to be tons out there but no really good deals. |
yes, that is what we have been seeing for the last few weeks. |

This is not directed towards anyone in this thread, it only reminded me. So I decided to post this before the thread gets locked for being just another price thread: Ever notice how many people on this forum complain about the price of ammo, then turn around and offer ammo on the EE at the highest price anywhere on the web? Another rant: About a year ago there was a thread where a guy was bragging about finding Q3131 for $5 a box. Several folks chimed in that they wished they could find it at that. I knew a local shop that had that price and posted an offer to pick it up and ship it to anyone who wanted it for cost plus ten dollars. I got a few inquiries, but not one person bought any. Before anyone asked for that deal now, it's long gone. |

the increase in prices of brass and copper/lead for the ammo is utter bs the metals increase MIGHT add 20 bucks per case, but not double and then some the price of ammo i used to pay a certain amt for bha blue box from the factory.... metal price was the reason for the increased ammo costs as a dealer.... the ammo has almost doubled my dealer prices Gouging |
| I remember recently hearing that a huge contract for M193 had been cancelled due to the improved outlook for the afghan/iraq wars, and that this glut of ammo would be coming down the pipeline as top quality XM193PD. But I would suspect that there would be a considerable time lag, as in months before it starts coming down. The contract cancellation only occured recently. Please correct me if I am wrong on this. |
There's some dealers out there selling this for a lot less than it was a few months back. I think with the demand being so high none of them will reduce the prices that much until it stops moving. |

Outdoor marksman has a pretty decent deal going on right now on the brown box XM193. On a side track... What's so special about the Lot #? Seems like folks make such a huge deal about it. My MFG experience has told me there's two kinds of variation in processes. Lot to lot and within lot. I can only assume mil spec ammo is built to pretty tight standards and there really shouldn't be much variation... So I'm still pondering why folks go nuts over a certain lot #. |
Yeh but who is gouging? Where I work, we make less than we ever have on ammo but our costs go up every few weeks. Same as our lead weights, bike gear and tackle. |
I'm sure there's other factors that influence the increased price. Energy costs, salaries, business taxes, cost of raw materials etc....It all adds up. |
I hate to tell you this, but I don't think there is going to be a glut of M193. That rumor is just urban legend. Now what is a fact, is that ATK (Federal) has announced ANOTHER 5% price increase on catalog ammunition and primers effective 4-1-08 and 9% on promotional ammunition. I have no idea what promotional ammunition is but I think it is XM193. This from a local dealer who had a letter sent to him by a Federal distributor that was issued by ATK announcing the price increase. I bet Winchester will follow. Can you believe it? |
Remington also will have an increase on ammo. Wolf will not tell me, but the price list from them ends this month. Most of the promo stuff is the cheap 22lr, and shotgun ammo. Maybe AE stuff also.

"Ever notice how many people on this forum complain about the price of ammo, then turn around and offer ammo on the EE at the highest price anywhere on the web?" Yes, I've noticed that too. OTOH, I've offered ammo at wholesale prices, got three tire-kickers who said "I'll take it" and proceeded to jerk me around in e-mails for a week. When time came to send in payment they all disappeared. I don't sell ammunition on the EE here any more ...... |
