Gtreetings.  Someone is offering to sell me what he states is 350rds of 5.56 ammo.  It is on stripper clips.  Stamping on the end of the cartridge is " T, W, 7 and 2.  Can anyone identify this ammo and how do you determine if ammo has been reloaded or not?  Thanks.

That would be from Twin Cities ammo plant, 1972 vintage.
Check to see if the primer crimps are intact; should be a ring around the primer pocket, and there my be some tinted sealant as well; if the crimps are good, it hasn't been reloaded.

Thanks for the reply.  Is it good stuff?  Since it is 36 yrs old what should I expect?

I would expect it to go bang and put nice little holes in the target.    There shouldn't be any problems as long as it is has been stored correctly.

Thanks redleg.  I might make the guy an offer.  Right now he wants $150 for 350rds and 100rds of blanks.  Seems kinda high to me for iffy stuff.  But I'm no expert.  Nobody has jumped up to say it's great stuff.

I would give $75 for it. I will not pay current prices for old ammo without a can and some blanks.

Funny you should mention that.  The person actually wants to sell 350rds of 5.56 and 100rds of blanks.  $150 is his advertised number in a local newspaper.  I don't need the blanks.
