Anyone have any experiences with the Georgia Arms "canned heat" ammo? Would appreciate feedback users may have. Thank you |
| Ive shot lots of GA. Never had a problem myself. About a year ago, they went up in price like everyone else. I bought lots of PMC, AE and OM bulk instead. It was the same price for factory loads. Still sitting on bunches of that. If things dont straighten out I might buy some for plinking, from time to time if there is nothing close in cost, just to prevent tapping my stash. |
i concur with that, as I just got my AR15 and went to them first for ammo..federal 2nd, just b/c of price Anyhow before I left I did a 6shot group at the head of a zombie target and only 2 landed inside the boxes on his head using Canned Heat 223 55gr fmj. Shot 6 last shots with the xm193 before leaving and they all hit in that 2box area of the zombie head. Maybe I got lucky maybe not, but the fact is they all landed in critical hit zone.. I'll be shooting again end of the month or early april and will do a blind test(not know which im shooting and see how it groups) and let you know! FYI I was shooting with a Eotech 512 at 100yds |

The only reason I tried canned heat was because a LEO friend of mine bought a few cans for $90 per 500rnd can for a course and sold me a couple he had left for the same price. Considering they go for $165 a pop, I said heck yea Anyways, that same day I tried 100 rnds each of the Canned heat, XM193, S&B ss109 and Wisconsin cartridge 55gr ammo. 50yards with bench rest, Bushmaster 14.5 barrel 1/9 twist, Eotech 511. While all 400 rnds ran with out issues, the canned heat was all over the place, the XM193 and S&B ss109 and wisconsin Cartridge all shot the same grouping and were dead accurate. I would say, wolf is more accurate than canned heat. 223SAINT |
