Sad to say but with the cost of ammo I have looked on the Wolf site doesn't seem to be up to date and it left me with questions.

Is the only difference between Military Classic and the black box Wolf (.223), the bullet jackets bi-metal for the Military Classic and copper for the black box?

Are the cases still laquer coated on the Military classic or did they switch to the poly like the black box?

Any other differences other than the box ?

TIA for info.

Mil classic and black box made in different plants.  Black box chronographs slower, but is boxer primed.  Both are poly coated, though the Mil Classic coating is thinner.

Not sure about projos.

All Wolf tips are bimetal, excepting the brass-cased Prvi-made ammo.

IIRC Black box with yellow band was not bi-metal.  You used to see alot of this sold in Kali as the ranges there did not permit bi-metal due to fire risk.  I still have 500 rnds of TCW(pre-wolf name-may still be called that in Ruskieville) white box that is definitley not bi-metal.

But all new production wolf is bimetal. I used to shoot the copper jacket black box stuff myself, but I haven't seen any of that for sale in a long time.

No, it's not.  The MC made by Uly is bi-metal, the black box made by TCW is copper.

The black box, poly-coated I have is copper jacket. It is much thicker than that of M193. Gave me through-penetration on trees at 100+ yds

last chrony session it came in at 2943 fps, 5 yds from muzzle.

Thanks!

Ammo FAQ, #13.
Makes it sound like all the Wolf 223 will be bi-metal projectiles.
