Is federal ammunition owned by Lake City?

The Lake City government plant is run by ATK who also owns Federal Cartridge, CCI, RCBS, etc. etc. Winchester used to run the Lake City plant, but Federal (ATK) took over several years ago. Lake City is owned by the US government, but run and managed by contracted private companies. This is like British Aerospace that has contracted to run USA Army Ammunition plants that make high explosives.

Fair price $7.00 a box
Dream price $3.00 to $4.00 a box
Probibly never find it below $8.00

This is the best price I've seen lately but they don't have anymore.

Definitely not reloads. On the box it says strictly for sale only to law enforcement.

Federal TRU Cop ammo.
Sounds like T223E from the OPs description. LC headstamped brass is quite common in the TRU, Tactical, and American Eagle brands of Federal .223 rifle ammo.
