I need to buy at least 1000rnds of ammo in .223.  Any ideas?  Is wolf good?  going for the median b/t quality and cost.  This is not for match or anything...just to practice.

Thanks

My rifles like Wolf and that's what I've been shooting most of lately as it's the cheapest ammo out there and is good for plinking.

There is also Prvi at AIM but you're looking at an extra 125.00

Wolf isn't the "median", that would be cabela's 55gr bulk @ $280/k or for $35 more the above mentioned Prvi at AIM.

btw get ready for everyone to tell you 1000rds isn't "bulk". These (ammo) whores here call 10k+ bulk!

If you do the WOLF get the Poly coated stuff and not the lacquer coated stuff. WOLF is good for plinking. Making Range Noise...

WOLF has a brass cartridge type also. I don't recall where I saw them on-line.

Wolf doesn't sell lacquer coated ammo anymore. It should run fine in your guns but is not accurate at all. Fine for shooting offhand, but not for shooting groups from a bench. I buy a lot of it because I need lots of practice.

The brass cased "Wolf" is made by Prvi Partizan and is a great value at the moment. AIM and Wideners have some that I don't think will last much longer, as WalMart and Dicks sporting good recently raised their ammo prices for .223.
