I was firing Federal Red Box (FC head stamp) in my 16" Spikes AR. The gun only has about 1000 rounds through it and is very reliable. A round failed to extract and was very difficult to remove because the bolt would hardly rotate in the carrier. When we finally got it out a piece of the case neck was missing. I'm not real sure what happened and it had somehow jammed up the action making the bolt very hard to rotate. I have fired 500 rouds of this ammo and it has been great - but no more just pulling them out of the box and stuffing them in the magazine - This cartridge must have had a noticeable neck defect before chambering. |
