A local dealer has a 30 year old box (40 rounds) of 5.56 ammo that was made in Singapore on Dec.29, 1977 for ten bucks. The rounds are slightly tarnished but look good otherwise. Anyone know of any issues with this stuff?

No worries, that shop only had a couple boxes.   I buy all my ammo online, I'm no competition.  Their prices are nuts --$6-7 per box of Wolf BB, ten bucks for 20 rounds Federal XM193 for example.

Hope that ammo works out better for you than it did for my friend who traded it to them!

It probably will, at least I hope so.  IIRC he was trying to use it in a shorty BM, which always gave him trouble anyway.  G'luck!

I went to the range yesterday and I'm happy to report that the 30 year old ammo was still good. No problems at all.

Excellent, glad you had a good range day.  Unfortunately we are soon to see the last of sub-90 degree days around here!
