There is a local sportsman shop going out of business this Saturday. It's a place out in the middle of nowhere. I stopped in to look for some 5.56 ammo and they had 25 boxes of Winchester Q3131A on the shelve. Price was $5.99 He said he would sell it to me for $4.00 a box. I bought 15 boxes and on the way out he said he had another case in the basement of the stuff. My question "is this ammo suppose to have the NATO stamp on it like the Federal 193xm does"? Many of these boxes were taped shut, the boxes do look a bit old, and I am now wondering if it's possible that they are reloads? There is a W two C's and another mark I can't make out? on the bottom. They sell ammo in Canada?  That is a great price given todays standard. Search this thread for Q3131A, I started a thread that has pics of the headstamps, i think its a little fuzzy. If you're affraid they are reloads look at the sealant around the primer, IMI used a purplish color sealant that should still be there (if theyre new and not reloads). DK ETA: Just out of curiousity, what year is on the headstamp? |
Yes, Q3131A is packed loosed within the box, regular ole Q3131 has the plastic shell divider. DK |
