Have yall had any issues with soft points?  Ranges by me have "No FMJ Rifle Ammo" signs up, and I need something to appease them Cabela's has 55 gr. SP's for a not-absurd price.  Is this the only economically viable option?

I just started on my 3rd box of 1,000 55 gr soft points, so I have shot at least 2,000 55 gr soft points with no issues, and better accuracy on average than FMJ bullets.

No issues here either, just don't keep rechambering the same round.

I shot 600 soft points last Saturday.

I have shot thousands over the years.

Excelent.  I'll pick up some Black Hills Remanufactured tomorrow.  Just adding to the torture, tho, since I won't be able to shoot the AR I built until spring break

No  issues  at  all  with  SP  ammo. Black  hills  is  really  great  ammo. Makes  a  Good  self  defense  round  in  My   opinion.

I went through 300rds of Win white box 55gr soft point loads with EXCELLENT results.

Just got done reloading 500rds of Win 55gr soft points with W748. For indoor ranges (60-85 F) it matches exactly what I was getting with "factory" Winchester loads.

And as other have stated, its actually more accurate in my carbines (DPMS and DoubeStar) than regular FMJ.

I haven't had time to try the 64gr PSP stuff, but, from what I have heard, its every bit as good as M855 for speed and penetrates nicely. (I have read elsewhere that the Cali highway patrol uses the "Ranger" brand as their duty ammo)

Maybe  comparing  apples  with  oranges,  but  SP  Does  the  job  as a  self  defense  load. Years  ago,  the  NYPD  were  watching  liquor  stores  that  had  been  victims  of  hold ups.  The  cops  were  using  30  Carbines loaded  with  SP  ammo. Turns  out  it  Was  quite  effective  in  stopping  the  bad  guys.  So  good  that   the  cops  had  to   quit  using  it.  Cant  kill  Too many  bad  guys ,  can  we?
