I know this is supposed to be in the ammo forum but it literally takes forever to get questions answered there

The ammo that i shoot from my AR is American Eagle 55gr, and i wanted to buy some tracer rounds and load a tracer round for every 5 rounds of the Eagles that i use just to see if im still on target, but the tracers are 62gr and as far as i know my rifle will be able to fire them because it's got a 1/9 twist, but the question i have is when i shoot the tracer round will it be on target or will be it be off because its heavier and my rifle sighted for the 55gr, if this is the case could someone give me a website where i can buy 55gr tracer rounds, btw the only thing i know about tracers is they glow, its bad to shoot tracer after tracer because its bad for ur barrel and they're very very hot .

more than likely the tracers will be hitting a hair lower, anything over a 100yds yes tracers will hit lower i believe

Actually, there are many variables involved: actual velocity, barrel vibrations, pressure curves, etc.  The only way to tell if there is a difference, and what that difference is at a given range is to shoot a group with one load (carefully from a bench, ten shots or so) and then shoot another group with the next load.  The point of impact may be significantly different, or nearly the same place.

Case in point, my 20" AR-15 A2 will print three different 55 grain loads with a velocity difference of ~300 ft/s in three different spots: as much as 4 inches apart at 100 yds.  The powders are different, and thus the pressure curves are different.  This is more of a factor than velocity as far as the point of impact is concerned; the barrel vibrations are different.  Most notably, the fastest of the three loads prints a bit lower than the other two loads.  Without taking in barrel vibrations, one would expect that load to print higher.

I would expect tracers to be quite a bit different. Even if you shoot 62gr ball and 62gr tracers - the tracers are going to be a lot longer since they're less dense. Notice how much longer M856 (orange tip) is compared to M855 (green tip) even though they're both 62gr:

That means a different BC and different bullet path for the tracers.
