Remember that WWB 40 round value pack of .223 that they supposedly were selling out of nationwide?

I found eight of them last night for $4 a pop ... 10ยข a round. I called around today, and nobody else has them locally. Obviously, YMMV.

I looked for any .223 and as usual they suck. My local wally world has never been very good in that way.

Maybe that's why I can't find any .223 at the local Walmarts, Furious is buying it all!

BTW, Hi Furious. I think our paths crossed before a while back in the Sigforum. I was going to attend that Sig shoot you organized at CP but I didn't go because we had that big blizzard that day and it would have been too perilous to drive there (I'm about an hour away).

I haven't seen the WWB anywhere but I wasn't looking. I've been buying the UMC but they have only had a few boxes here and there. I will keep looking, thanks for the tip!

I used to buy a LOT of that WWB at WalMart, but unfortunately my local WalMart has stopped carrying guns and seems to have a very limited selection of ammo too.

I always cruise by the sporting goods section in Wally World. Ours was stocking ammo last night. Two or three cases of the Remington 55 gr .223 @ 5.34 a box sitting behind the counter waiting to get shelved.

Of course that is what? about 250.00 per 1000 plus tax.

If your like me and received a wal-mart gift card, use it to cover the sales tax (or more) and it's no big deal. It is not going to get any cheaper.

My WM was completely out of .223 when I stopped in the other day.  I'll be heading back when time permits, though.  If their ammo goes below $5.20 per valuepak, I'm on it like a duck on a junebug!

I'd really like to buy some HSM, but shipping is just too damned expensive to get it halfway across the country.

GA Arms comes to the gunshows, but this last one saw me a bit short of cash due to the holidays.  Next show, I'm buying at least one case, probably two!!

I bought the last 12 boxes that my local China-Mart had a few months back. No more since.

I bought 21 boxes of the WWB 223 when it went to $7.   Not seen it since.   I statred buying 22lr and now I have switched back to 9mm valuepacks.   Sure would be nice if the WWB 223 would come back.

I have never seen good .223 at a walmart

Apparently your local store didn't carry the WWB value packs that were made in Israel. One of our local stores gave me a heads up early in the year that it was going to be gone. I kept hitting all the local walmarts until it was. Luckily I was able to get about 4K and would like about that much more. Its some of the most accurate non match 223 I have found.

That's exactly what this stuff that I got was, made in Israel. Looks like beautiful ammo. I'm hoping to see more of it, but you know how that works out.

Shoots great also. It will shoot around an inch with my better AR's.

Aside from the really expensive hunting-grade stuff, all the Wally Worlds around here ever have is Federal PowerShok 200-packs.  It's got an odd 50 grain bullet, and it isn't reliable in either of my ARs.  They have no problem with military ammo (M193 or M855), so go figure.

I recently discussed the ammo pricing strategy with the manager of our local Wally World.  This past year a group of enthusiasts ordered X number of cases of Winchester 223.  In order to get the best price (the manager said) they ordered an X quantity above and beyond what the enthusiasts wanted.  The cases that weren't sold sat on the shelves and in the back storage room for several weeks at the full price.  The manager then discounted it 3 times at 2 week intervals, until it was selling for 2.77 per box.  At the 4.00 per box price, most all of it disappeared, but at 2.77 per box, I, er you would have to have been there when they opened the counter at 0600.  It made me wonder if myself or a group of enthusiasts could repeat this from time to time in order to keep supplied.

I have all but given up looking for ANY .223.
Local gun shops, out no idea of when stock is coming in...
Wal Mart, have not checked in about a week will need to check again.
Sheels WAY OVER PRICED, Cabelas Little high but may have to "Bit The Bullet" and get it there.
Makes want to lock up my 30 rd mags and throw away the key to help contain myself!
Local Gun Shop is 250 bucks for 1000rd UltraMax Reman FMJ (I got the last last a week ago),  So far, that has done fine in my S&W M&P.
