I hate you. My local dealer has the new WWB at like $6.99... He did have .223 TAP at $16/box... |

I don't wish to minimize your experience, but the ammo in the photos you showed isn't all that bad. In fact, I have a case where about ten percent of the rounds look that good, and the rest look worse. In some cases, a LOT worse. Still, it all goes bang in my rifle and shoots to point of aim with my XM193 zero. |
+1 That's not even close to the bad stuff; and even the bad stuff worked fine. I wouldn't store it for a decade, but it will make fine plinking (or bump-firing) ammo. |

I just got a case from AIM and opened it today. It is Lot 4 with a year stamp of 00. 90% of the 90 rounds I hand inspected were clean and comparable to my XM193. 10% had what I can best describe as "water spots". I would not classify what I saw as corrosion, just spots. Regards, Gary |
| I bought a case of Guat at the last gunshow, and mine looks exactly like yours. Half of the ammo had those marks, and half mostly clean. I've gone through about 600 rounds of the 1440 case (I'm shooting the worst stuff first) and it's all shot fine, no problems at all. My lot was from 02/1990. |

I bought some Guat at the Bloomington gun on Saturday. I had read on this forum that it was good stuff. Once I bought it and got home I found this thread. Got me concerned. So I went to the gun store today and bought some stripper clips and started opening battle packs. I found some corrosion? Blemishes? Kind of weird looking. One battle pack had 4 bad boxes, one had 2 bad boxes, one had no bad boxes, the last one I opened had 5 bad boxes. So 11 bad out of 48 in the case. Not really bad, looks perfectly fine for shooting. Some of the bad boxes had unaffected rounds. The good boxes looked very good. Not as shiney as Radway, but good as other surplus ammo I have got in the past. Weather permitting, I will try and get out and shoot some of it tommorrow. Other info: Marked lot 6 06 JUL 1989 headstamp was IMG 6-89 Prices are going up. $308 out the door for 1440 rounds. The Radway I bought was $165, can, clips, bandoliers, 720 rounds. Tired of putting rounds on stripper clips. Budweiser time. If I respond back to this thread later tonight, just ignore me. 8-) Scott |
| I bought some of the Guat awhile back and it looked terrible when it came out of the box. I just put it through the tumbler and it looks much better and shoots fine. Even before I tumbled it, I shot some of the better looking stuff. Still had some spots on it but it cycled like any other. |
| The first time I ordered some of the Guat I culled a box full of rounds that looked just like that. I was hesitant to shoot those rounds until I read here that guys were shooting rounds that looked worse than mine, so I fired all of my ugly rounds in my Colt SP1 and they worked like a charm. |

Hey! You should ignore me. Went to the range. 120 rounds of the bad, discolored stuff. Perfect. No malfunctions of any kind. Thought I might run the bad ones thru the tumbler. Why? Shoot this stuff first, pretty ammo on the stripper clips ready for whenever. Would have shot more but the drizzel was soaking thru my coat. Those plastic water bottles have a mind of their own. They bounce into the air and hide behind the 4x4 target supports. Fun time. Scott |

I would buy 15,000 rounds at that price. |
