First, I read the fag and the ammo oracle but being a newbie i am still very confused. I have my new rifle on order - A Stag 15L (Lefty) Should pick it up next week. I would love it if someone can just recomend a reliable clean firing round. Please don't direct me to reviews i looked at them all but it's still confusing. thanks |
| Your Stag should be 5.56, so you're good with all .223 & military 5.56 ammo. As far as clean ammo, I never notice if one round is particularly cleaner than the next, I am more concerned with function & accuracy. Having said that, you can't go wrong with Winchester white box ammo as well as the Guatemalan ammo that was suggested. Better buy it while you can, surplus ammo is drying up fast! |
Its the M855 first off. Both are militray rounds, however M855 is the preferred "service" round while the M193 is the "training" round. The M855 has a steel penetrator in it and weighs slightly more then the M193. The M855 is a "better" round where shooting through barriers will be encountered, and tends to be a bit more expensive. |
Yes and no. According to the Ammo Oracle, M855, penetrates steel better than M193 only at ranges in excess of 100m. |
