A few months back i was loading a mag when i noticed some powder on the floor. Upon further inspection i noticed a bullet had fallen back into a casing. Needless to say i inspected the remainder of the case i bought, all good. I called Federal and notified them of the problem. He asked me to send in the offending round in a crush proof envelope plus lot number and he asked for my address. Yesterday i recieved a letter apologising for the aggravation it may have caused and for my troubles enclosed a check for $5. I guess my expectations were a little high, i was hoping for some ammo for my trouble For $5 i would not have wasted my time buying an envelope and running to the post office. Oh well. A good reason to check all your ammo for safety reasons, anyway. |
I wouldn't have wasted my time contacting a manufacture over 1 bad cartridge to begin with. Glad to hear they were actually concerned though. |

At least you could buy a new box with the $5. That's not too bad- one bad round replaced with 20 new. And I applaud you for sending the round back so they could make note of the problem. I wonder what caused the failure... If you remember- Fiocchi had a massive 9mm recall a while back. I had to send back 500 rds. At first I was pissed- it was a hassle- but they took care of it quickly and sent me 200 free rounds for the trouble. At least the companies are MAKING AN EFFORT to provide good customer service. I give them credit for that! 4073 |
I was expecting to be given the whole ammo plant actually, smarty pants A couple boxes would have been bettter than breaking even for my trouble is what im saying. Im not losing sleep over it and will buy AE again. Im glad they were genuinely concerned about this, it means more to me than $5. A sticker would have been nice |
