Looking for 9.2" bbl data.  Will it top 2200 fps?  How about 5.56 TAP?

For a short barrel like that I'd go with the Winchester Ranger 64 Gr. Power Point or the Federal TRU 64 Gr. Soft Point.

Depends on barrel type, maker, the chamber, how used the barrel is, ammunition used, ambient temperature, suppressed or unsuppressed, etc.  While I don't have direct data for a 9.2" barrel I am very confident in my extrapolations from the data I DO have.

A typically manufactured chrome-lined new/newish 9.2" 5.56 chambered AR15 barrel shooting Hornady TAP 75gr 5.56 pressure unsuppressed @ ~75F should be in the 2200-2275fps range.  That is the velocity range I would expect from the described barrel if manufactured using the same methods and technologies as those typically used to make standard chrome lined barrels by the mainstream AR15 manufacturers.

Specifically I was wondering about the Kel Tec PLR.  From your numbers it looks like at close range 5.56 TAP will fragment.

Realise barrels loose quite a bit of velocity over their lives.  It may fragment at in house distances today but will it after 1K or 2K through the tube?

Don't know about Kel Tec barrels.  Depends an awful lot on how they are designed and manufactured.  The only way to be sure would be to try it.

This is correct.  It is not uncommon for moderately/hard used barrels to loose 200fps after having 10k put through them.

Since the 64gr JSP stuff was brought up, does anyone have any gel and muzzle velocity data from a short barreled system ie +- 10.5"?
