Maybe I missed it on the Ammo Oricle pages (just got done reading), but what does the "PD" stand for, and what is the difference between M855 and M855PD?

PD is bulk packaged and quality control rejects, on the box it reads "For Training Only". I haven't heard the real answer for the "PD"? someone stated Propellent Deficent, and the guy from fedor ATK said  it only means bulk packed??  IIRC. I shoot the PD all seems well to me.  Do look at the tagged thread ammunition review and referrence and in there will be a PD thread.

The truth is NOBODY knows what the PD stands for.  It was discussed at length.  Anyone who tells you they know what it stands for is LYING!

No one knows what the PD stands for, other than it denotes bulk packed reject ammo.  Regular M855 or XM855 should be higher quality.  I have shot a bunch of the XM855PD though, and it has all gone bang.  Some of the cases look a little suspect though, and I have had 2 tracers mixed in.
