My wife buys all of the ammo at our house, she's got a great nose for a good price with all of the "other"shopping she does so I encourage her to put her skills to work with ammo as well

Yes, my wife believes that I have far too many various firearms/guns, magazines, and ammo. he
Therefore, I have to hide my ammo and magazines with in the house and basement, in various areas, where she can not find them. I also have some of my firearms hiden as well from her. But I can get to them real easy if the need araises. herALL of my magazines and ammo at my father's house, instead of our house.

If I had only 7837 rounds of ammo, I would go into panic mode. You need more ammo. Lots more.

I don't hide it, I don't flaunt it. If she asks I'll tell her, but I'm not looking forward to that conversation. I don't count her cosmetics and clothes so why would she count my stuff!

Just ordered 250 more 7.62x39, 300 .223, 250 45ACP, 60 .303 British. Going to wall mart for 9mm its cheaper than on the net.

My wife recently wanted to rearrange our bedroom furniture.  She was surprised when I said I needed a hand truck to empty my "blanket chest" at the foot of the bed.  The 5K of Q3131A and 1200 rds. of IMI M855 was just a little bit embarrassing...

Then I started digging in my computer room closet...final count exceeded 20K!

She also told me that I can not keep any magazines and/or ammo in the open inside the house or basement.

I keep my bulk storage of magazines and ammo for TEOTWAWKI, next door at my father's house. This way my wife believes that I keep ALL of my magazines and ammo at my father's house, instead of our house.

You'll end up losing some,  years from now you'll find it and throw a party.  We've had a few members here recently that have found long lost guns.
In their safes.

7837 rounds

Is that per caliber?

My wife gave up.  Now as long as I don't tell her no when she wants something she never says a word.

Besides, she thinks all the ammo I buy is paid for by my part time job at the gun store

I will be moving sometime in the next year.  THAT is when it will get interesting.  All of my plans to buy more of the same gun because if  they all look alike its really just one....Well she will be supprised to say the least.  As far as Ammo, Well, she has never asked what was in the ammo cans next to her car.  I guess I'll just see what happens.

I plan on getting another 2000 rounds of 5.56 for my B-Day in December.  Then I go to Kuwait in Jan and I get to druel over all the pretty weapons and all that ammo...

My wife loves my hobbie and the 5000+ rounds that we have on hand, WE go to the range together all the time.

7800?  Well, that about covers the 7.62x51 portion of my ammo.
Out of sight, out of mind.

7800 rounds MIGHT cover my .45ACP ammo. She knows how many ammo CANS are stacked against the wall and she MIGHT know about the 32 more stored in my steelcase cabinets and she can see if she bothers to look on the other shelves about the other 15 or 20. I sure the heck don't bother to hide it. Heck, if I DON'T come home with ammo and at least 1 gun from a show she might think I am messing around, so I have to keep up with the buying.

Just show her THIS post on how much ammo you have on hand.  She will feel a lot better about you!

I showed my wife how the prices keep going up---when she saw the price increases, like the price increases on standard capacity (what others incorrectly call "high capacity") during the AWB, she said--oh, now I see why you buy it while it's cheap.....

She doesn't ask anymore.....she just won't lift the cases if they're left by UPS. And if she travels near a place that has a good price on XM193--she'll even get a case for me.

So, just show her the dollars--it'll make sense Yes, pun intended--sorry if it offends....

Oh yea--I've got more than that just in 5.56--Man--you need more. You need at LEAST 5,000 in .22LR--I like 5K+ (more is always better) for any SHTF firearm. That's a rifle, a pistol and some flavor .22LR--handgun rifle. Just my opinion, YMMV.
