I know this has been asked sooooo many times so here it goes again..............I am deciding today if I should go ahead and make a big purchase of wolf ammo. I bought six boxes and it ran pretty good, what is your take on running this stuff for a long time. Also is this good for cold weather, very hot weather, getting wet? biggest question is................ is this stuff good for extreme rapid fire? More or less..........is this a good SHTF ammo? |
| I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will avoid Wolf ammo like the plague. When using Wolf or South African ammo the case rims get torn off. When using quality brass cased ammo, XM193, Q3131A, Winchester, etc., I don't have this problem. Out of 120 rounds yesterday I had 5 or more instances where the case rim was sheered off. My chamber was clean and it is a 5.56 chrome lined chamber. I had to take a cleaning rod and drive the casing out. This is my experience, but your results might vary. MJD |
Do you have a tight chamber? I'm running it through a Bushy 11.5" in full auto, case after case, and no problems yet. The case rims are not unduly tore up. I did recently have a friend who got one stuck in the chamber and had to be tapped out with a rod. Should his extractor not allowed the rim to slip, I'm sure the rim would have been torn off. All I am running right now is an Wolff HD extractor spring and no o-ring device, still no problems. |
