A couple of months ago there was a discussion on an Import Ban on Tracers.  Does anyone have any links to actual .GOV sites that talk about this reg?  I need this for Work.

TIA

Bumping this back up.  Trying to figure out why a large batch of ammo we received had all the tracers removed.  Some explination other than the distributer Fooked us or someone in purchasing was clueless.

TIA

OK, what caliber? You said that "you need this for work", if you are a government agency, then most restrictions don't apply, right?

Since tracers usually sell for more $$ then ball, there are some questions to ask. 1) did you pay for ball or tracers? 2)Was a ball and tracer mix listed in the ad? 3) did you spec ball and tracer mix in your bid specs?

How do you know the tracers were removed? Is it belted ammo with every fourth or fifth round missing or boxed ammo?

we are actually a PMC woring for Uncle Sam.  Ammo is belted, Its from Isreal, was 9&1 mix.  Lake City is not supporting non DOD folks anymore, so we have to buy ammo on the open market.

I haven't seen anything about tracers being banned, but who knows. My suggestion is to check that the 9/1 mix was indeed ordered and paid for. Check both your company's purchasing dept. and the vendor.  Some fool might not have been thinking one Monday morning. Are you using it on links or is some unlucky person pulling the rounds and loading stripper clips?

Thats the whole reason for my post, Im "Thinking outside the Box" and not jumping to the conclusion that purchasing is FUBAR LOL.
