I read a article about them in Special Weapons. I appears to be some devastating stuff. I guess a ex Navy Seal Named Ben Thomas was working as a contractor in Iraq. Shot a guy in the left buttock drooped him instantly. The bullet traveled up into his lower left stomach and destroyed everything. They are made by Lemas LTD. Anybody seen or shot these critters? I am sure they are not cheap. |

Hell I never heard of the shit until I read this article. I was just wondering if it would be good to have a magazine or two for home defense. The hole story was about the killing power or lack of, of the 5.56 and possible solutions..It also talked about upgrading to the 6.8. Everybody talks about shot placement. In real life sometimes the target is not just standing there with there vitals exposed for that perfect shot. Any hunters here no exactly what I am talking about. When hunting you can pass up a shot. When someone is hunting you, you can't.

Perhaps your 14 year old can point you to the OTHER THREADS on this topic, one of which is thoughtfully linked here. Bon appetit. Please see also at least one large thread on Tactical forums. But this will give you the background you are looking for, and that we are referring to. |

I have read threw some of the thread until ended up in flame wars. Mostly personal opinion no facts. All I am asking.. Has anybody put one of these 5.56 bullets into a living animal be it human or 4 legged and witnessed the results? It does not matter to me if it works or not. I have never shot anything but 5.56 55 gr fmj. I am perfectly happy with it, but have never shot a living thing with that round. 300 WBY, 375 H&H yes 5.56 no |
