I just recieved some 308 ammo and I came across some headstamps that I didn't know who made it. The one that really got me was a backwards "k" followed by what looked like a music note and then the year of manufacture in the 70's. Any idea who made it, if it's corrosive, and wheather it's reloadable?

Another one was FN and FNM followed by the year of manufacture. Some of these had the year hypenated like 16-73.

Any idea who made these and if the ammo is any good?  Any problems with firing it in an M1a?

FN is FN from Belguim.  Should be top sheld ammo.

FNM is from Portugaul.  Good ammo.

The first one sound like Israeli.  Is the "backwards K" almost script-like??

See if you can find a site with Hebrew letters and see if anything looks like what you have.

The K looks just like it was if it was turned.  My girlfriend thought that the headstamp was from the UK because that's what the letters look like whenyou rotate the case.  Of course, she knows nothing about this.  But that's what it looks like.

That would be Israeli.  Missed that the first time.

That's IMI (Israeli) with Hebrew headstamps.  IIRC, they switched to English headstamps in 1977.  It should be reloadable.

This is Portuguese ammo, and considered very good.  It's Berdan-primed, so it's not reloadable.
