So I have just started studying differences in ammo...from the various stuff I've read..there seems to be a trend towards larger grain ammo for increased fragmentation especially at lower velocities, and therefor greater ranges.

If i was wanting to buy premo tactical ammo and had a 1:7 twist barrel...Would I be wrong in saying that Black Hills 77gr. nosler otm nato or 75 gr. is damn near the best as for a 14.5 - 16" barrel?  Wouldn't this ammo be the best for maintaining fragmentation at greater distances since it requires less velocity to fragment?

There is just so much info on all these different types of ammo but it seems to me that this ammo is top dog...And also...Is it hard to find and is there any other equivelant ammo that may cost less?

I may come off sounding dumb...I don't know...I'm just quite confused by all the different stuff out there.
Thanks for any help

Yes you are right. 75 and 77 gr OTMs at 5.56 pressures are the stuff.

Unfortunately also right that they are somewhat less than readily available.
