i looked at the ammo rating on this forum and i am wondering if there is a major problem with using the polymer coated wolf ammo?

i don't think its so much the polymer, i think the powder is dirty. Wolf is good for Mini14/30 and all your AK variants.

No major problem.  Try some and see if your rifle likes it.  A number of people here go through thousands upon thousands of rounds of Wolf every year, while now and then a rifle pops up that jus' don' wanna eat it!

General consensus: great plinking/blasting ammo.

i shot 750 rounds of wolf in about 3 hours before. no problems.

i was not looking for some incredible match grade ammo, i got cheap ammo that works fine and i used it to plink at used propane tanks.

OAI had trouble wit it when they tested rifles with it. They now have included a clause in their warranty, voiding it if Wolf is used in it.

I wonder if that says more about the quality of Wolf's ammo or Olympic's warranty?

Never had a problem with Wolf in a Colt or Bushmaster, guess you end up paying for that cheap Oly initial cost by it's finicky feeding habits. Are they the only "major" Ar manufacturer that can't chrome line bores still? I know DPMS and RRA offer it now as an option, along with Colt, Bushmaster and Armalite.

Shot 100 rounds of polymer coated through my DPMS AR and no problems. This was the first time I used Wolf.

We fired Wolf in both our MAK-90 and  the M4. No problems after 100 rounds each. Although the barrels were quite dirty.

I have put 1,000 rounds or more of Wolf through my Bushy and I have never had a problem with it.  It gets the gun dirty but it is way cheap.  The last case I bought was the non-laquered rounds.  I did not have to deal with the problem.  The steal cases ran fine through my AR.

I've shot thousands of rounds of the stuff with no problems.

Its not the cleanest, most accurate, or most reliable, but it is good stuff for plinking and I have found it to have pretty much the same POI as XM193 or Q3131A inside at 100 yards.  So, for short distance plinking it is good stuff.

I take others shooting frequently to introduce them to the sport and I let them shoot Wolf.  They don't know the difference and its a little kinder on the wallet.

Personally, I would wonder what was wrong with my firearm if it wouldn't eat wolf ammo, as all my others do...

i like it, i shoot it almost exclusively when i train or plink. typically i start by verifying my sights and optics with some Q3131a or XM193, then switch to wolf and before i leave shoot some more of the good hot stuff to check POA/POI and blow the crud out.

How the hell can you beat $83.00 for a case of 1000 rounds if your a Sportsmans guide member?
YOU CAN'T!

Well, for some reason, wolf smells like ammonia to me... both the .223 and 7.62x39 I've recently used... Narsty.

But it feeds and operates great in my new Bushy carbine.
